How we ceramic coat a vehicle in Kelowna
A coating is only as good as the surface underneath it, which is why the job takes two to three days in our shop rather than an afternoon. Here is what happens to your vehicle at 10-1691 Powick Road.
Inspection and quote
We look at the paint under proper lighting, note swirls, scratches, water spots and oxidation, confirm vehicle size, and agree on the package and price before anything is touched.
Wash and decontamination
Two-bucket hand wash, then chemical and clay bar decontamination to pull embedded iron, tar, sap and industrial fallout out of the clear coat so the surface is truly clean.
Paint correction
Single-stage enhancement polishing on Bronze, single-stage correction on Silver, and multi-stage correction on Gold and Platinum. Wet sanding and paint leveling are available for deeper defects and show-car results.
Panel prep and application
Every panel is wiped down to remove polishing oils, then the ceramic coating is applied and levelled by hand, panel by panel, so it bonds directly to the corrected clear coat.
Curing and handover
The coating cures in the shop before pickup. You leave with written aftercare instructions and the option of a maintenance wash schedule to keep it performing.
Ceramic coating vs wax vs paint protection film

A ceramic coating does not make a vehicle bulletproof, but it changes the equation. UV, salt, sap and bug residue sit on the coating instead of etching into the paint, water and dirt release with a gentle hand wash, and the corrected gloss underneath stays locked in. Aftercare: keeping your coating at its best
- Skip automatic car washes with brushes. They are the number one cause of swirl marks on coated and uncoated paint alike. Touchless washes are fine in a pinch.
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap and the two-bucket method. One bucket for soap, one for rinsing the mitt, so grit never goes back onto the paint.
- Book a maintenance decontamination wash every 3 to 6 months. We offer maintenance packages that refresh the coating's hydrophobic behaviour and remove bonded contaminants before they build up.
- Deal with bird droppings and sap quickly. The coating buys you time, but nothing should sit baked onto a hood for a week in July.
- Follow the written instructions we hand over. Every coating leaves with aftercare notes specific to the package and product used.

I send vehicles over to Ty regularly for the dealership I work at, and his work is always consistent, and astoundingly good! It doesn't matter what I give him, a reasonably clean car, a super dirty car, he takes it and transforms it into something I never expected. Hes done work on my personal vehicles including window tint, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The biggest thing with the staff at Kelowna details is the consistency. Ty is professional and friendly, and my car looks as good as new! Everything cleaned really thoroughly, inside and out, and he managed to get rid of a small scrape on my front bumper and some coffee and mud stains on the seats, too. The paint has been coated with a sealant and I don't ever remember it being so smooth. He even sorted out the headlights which were quite foggy/matted - I had given up and accepted I'd need to replace them but they look squeaky clean now.
Great attention to detail, explains all the options and the cost. Not cheap, but worth every penny. The car looks like straight off the production line. 10/10 highly recommend. I will be back! Thanks, Ty!

Ty is a stand-up guy who takes care of his customers. My car got flooded and he saw me on very short notice and took care of the problem for me. He communicated well, and even worked late in order to resolve a concern I had after the initial work was done. He goes the extra mile and he wants to make sure that his customers are totally satisfied. All in all it was a great experience and I would highly recommend Ty for interior detailing for his high level of attention and customer service.
